I love that Emma represented Orpheus going down to the underworld to get Killian (Eurydice) back.
I love that Emma’s ‘don’t look back’ was her trying to do the right thing and having to let go of Killian to save her family.
But she does look back.
Before she steps into the clock tower she looks back.
She’s checking if he’s behind her just like Orpheus did.
Love can make us do things when all the logic in the world is telling us not to do it.
Orpheus went to the underworld and looked back because he loved Eurydice.
Emma went to the underworld and looked back out of love.
Love defies all logic.
And just the kill us off even more, the next time she looks back, he is there.
